We use AI.
We don't ship slop.
We'd be wrong not to use AI. Nobody who's touched it lately has missed how good it can be. Anyone who's used it for long enough has also seen how bad the results can get when nobody's watching. We've seen both sides. That's exactly why we're careful.
Engineering stays at the center
For us, AI isn't a shortcut, and it isn't a band-aid stuck over weak engineering. We use it to make our existing engineering practices faster, not to replace them. We still design carefully. We still build products that are properly tested and engineered for scale. AI just helps us get there faster.
Every line of code AI writes for us goes through a human first — us. We review all of it, line by line. If something feels off, we don't hesitate to throw it out and do it properly ourselves. We still know how to build things by hand when AI falls short, and we're not shy about it.
What's at stake
We know your store isn't a side project to you. It's revenue you depend on, and a small mistake in a rule, a sync, or a storefront filter can cost you real money, fast. That's exactly why we won't let a machine with no morals and no sense of consequence become the one running your store. We stay in charge, and we act like it.
That same discipline is why Smart Collection Pro, our collection automation app, holds up on catalogs of a million products. That's not a trivial bar: most collection apps aren't built, or tested, to survive it. We're not aware of another one on Shopify that even attempts it, and a vibe-coded one, without that discipline, realistically couldn't.
AI makes us faster. It doesn't make us careless.
